Most people who use an iPhone have never seriously considered switching. But the reality is: switching is much easier than it used to be, and for many people the result is a phone that gives them more freedom — including the ability to use apps like SocialsCap that iOS simply doesn't allow.

iOS tightly controls what apps can and cannot do. Apple does not allow third-party apps to monitor or limit other apps in the way SocialsCap needs to. This isn't a technical limitation — it's a policy choice. Android gives apps like SocialsCap the permissions they need to actually work.

Go to Settings → your name → iCloud → Photos → turn off iCloud Photos, choosing "Download Photos". Wait for the download to complete before continuing.

Go to Settings → Messages → toggle off iMessage. This is important — if you skip this, texts from iPhone users may not reach you after switching.

iMessage: After switching, friends with iPhones will still see your number in their contacts — but their messages will come as regular SMS instead of iMessage. This fixes itself once you turn off iMessage on your old iPhone (step 3 above). You can also deregister at selfsolve.apple.com/deregister-imessage.

Apple Watch: Won't work with Android. If you have one, consider selling it before switching and buying a Wear OS watch (Google Pixel Watch, Samsung Galaxy Watch).

AirPods: Work fine with Android — you just lose the auto-switching between devices.

iCloud: Download everything before switching. Photos, documents, notes — make sure nothing is stored only in iCloud. After switching, Google Photos and Google Drive replace iCloud.

Android runs on hundreds of devices. A few reliable options at different price points:
